James Davis
I spent my years as a young man carving 110 acres of undeveloped land into a farm and homestead, taking full advantage of the local library and learning through trial and error. Along the way I was fortunate enough to discover the thrill of hunting and trapping, along with the satisfaction of raising our own livestock. All while tucked away in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and surrounded by deer, tics, and wild rose bushes. Beginning with deer and our own chickens and hogs, I grew proficient and was regularly called upon to process livestock and wild game by friends and neighbors. As an adult I have had the unique experience to have processed goats while deployed in Afghanistan, rabbits in Siberia, a boar in Beijing, and as of this July approximately 650 hogs and the same in beef, with nearly 2000 deer of the course of my professional butchering career. I am an Eagle Scout, A Marine Corps veteran, and a redneck global adventurer.
